The Oslo Sling Library

Who We Are

We are volunteer moms & professionals who are passionate about slings & about helping parents; which is really a wonderful combination. Our passion for slings brought us here through different avenues, so we offer different approaches to babywearing & different expertise, but the same level of safety & caring touch that has been a standard of the OSL since its creation. The Oslo Sling Library is now part of The Milk & Oil Company. While merging the library with TM&O Co for administrative & management purposes, the library will remain independent & will run as usual, with meet-ups, low cost rentals & accessible options for support, just as when it was created.

**All payments & invoicing are now managed through The Milk & Oil Co. online or by Vipps #613290. If you need to make a payment with card or PayPal you will be able to do so through the electronic invoice that will follow your booking, rental or consult. There is no Oslo Sling Library Vipps Account.

What We Do

The Oslo Sling Library holds a collection of over 100 slings & carriers which we use to teach parents technique, skills & confidence in babywearing while at the same time, renting them out for parents to test drive options before buying.
We organize bi-monthly meets & workshops in Oslo where parents come, learn about options, try on the slings or simply spend time with other parents for social contact & support. Our consultants are all mothers who have been there & know the difficulties that come with having small babies or feisty toddlers; so we help with slings, but we also offer a safe space for (new) parents to get some much needed tlc.

KATE BRINCH SAND
Massage Therapist for Women's Wellness, Postpartum Professional & Babywearing Consultant, Kate is a mom of 3 boys & the owner of The Milk & Oil Company. In her work, Kate focuses on helping families by helping women through bodywork, support & awareness; three very helpful elements for a successful babywearing journey.
Kate has been a therapist for 17 years, postpartum professional since 2016 & babywearing consultant since 2019. Kate pays special attention to the parent's comfort & position while carrying, looking to ensure a pain free experience & a restorative process for the birthing parent.

Sling Rental

Renting out a sling has never been easier !

With our new catalogue online you can browse everything we have, check availability & pay for your sling from the comfort of your mobile phone. All payments go to Vipps #613290 (The Milk & Oil Co.)

Have a Newborn? We have a special free rental on stretchy wraps! You can borrow free of charge & test-drive this whole babywearing thing. We can show you how to wear it & give you tips.

To take advantage of our free offer* you can join a meet-up or book an express consult through The Milk & Oil. You can also pick it up in Majorstua (must email ahead & make a pick-up appointment).

This offer lasts 4 weeks, after which we ask you to bring back the sling so other families can also take advantage of the offer.
Slings that don't come back must begin to pay the regular fee of 80 Nok / week.

Rent 2 weeks = 250kroner / sling*
Rent 4 weeks = 325 kroner / sling*

Extensions
1 week = 85 kroner / sling.
4 week = 300 kroner / sling.

Long Term Rental
15% discount for 3+ Months
Must pay in Advance

The minimum rental period is 2 weeks But due to the work involved in delivery, return & Administration, We strongly recommend 4 weeks & therefore offer a better price.

We do not exchange slings in the middle of the rental period. If you choose to change slings you must return the one you have & make a new rental agreement.

If you have a slot in a meet or have booked a private consult in-person or online, we will set aside the slings you are interested in to guarantee availability.
For pick-ups, we will prepare your sling(s) & send you an invoice. We will also ask you to fill out a rental form for our records & coordinate pick-up time.
